Join Airline Ambassadors to assist the victims of the devastating hurricane. Here are ways that you can help!

1.  Make a financial donation to our Hurricane Katrina Fund

Desperately needed are funds to support the disaster victims. Call 1-866 ANGEL-86 - or 972-323-2772 or accounting@airlineamb.org.

 

2.  Adopt-A-Family

Make your home available to victims of the tragedy.
You can connect with families in need by contacting Victim Relief at
eturner@victimrelief.org.
Please let Melanie Masinde know that you are volunteering in this way -
mmasinde@airlineamb.org.

3.  Donate supplies.
You may send the following items to our office at 1625 W. Crosby Road,
Suite 132
, Carrolton, TX 75006
.  Please call 972-323-2772.

Drop boxes are located in the DFW area at American Airlines
Headquarters, AA Credit Union, and APFA (Association of
Professional Flight Attendants).

Wet Wipes

SCHOOL
SUPPLIES:

Please package the following supplies in a backpack or large plastic bag if at all possible:

1 pair of blunt-end scissors
1 12-inch ruler
12 #2 pencils with erasers
Small pencil sharpener
1 large eraser
1 box of colored pencils
1 package of notebook paper
1 composition book
3 folders with inside pockets
1 zippered pencil bag
1 backpack

IF YOU HAVE OTHER SUPPLIES, LET US KNOW SO WE CAN ADD THESE TO THE DATABASE WE WILL CONTACT YOU IF DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS BECOME AVAILABLE..EACH SHELTER IS REQUESTING  SPECIFIC ITEMS AND NOT ALL AID IS ELIGIBLE.

3.  Volunteer your time.

Short-term volunteer options:
a. Help in the AAI office, answering phones and packing aid for distribution.
b. Deliver aid to local shelters.
c. Pick up donations at local drop boxes.

Long-term volunteer options:

A. Register and complete training with the local Red Cross  to
help AAI assist at shelters in various locations.
b. Inform Melanie Masinde at AAI Headquarters that you are a trained
Red Cross volunteer.  Contact Melanie at mmasinde@airlineamb.org
c.  Keep track of your volunteer hours and report them to AAI

Houston
AAI is partnering with the Red Cross, the Houston Food Bank and the Christian Alliance to help those housed at the Astrodome and at local shelters.  Contact Tracy Gibbs at tsunamireliefnow@aol.com

 

Louisiana

Kelly Lee is leading a caravan of aid into Shreveport and Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sept 6 and we plan to help deliver $500,000 of food in the disaster areas. mudbug@attg.com

 

  Mississippi

AAI has partnered with Yellow Trucking and local security to move supplies to GulfPort and Biloxi Mississippi .  Contact Elaine Osborn, ieosborn@aol.com

 


We are also working with major airlines to provide tickets for key relief personnel and freight for medical equipment, as well as free or low cost tickets to reunited refugees to extended family.  Whatever contacts you have to facilitate these efforts would also be appreciated. This recovery effort will take weeks and months. Thank you for your compassion and assistance.
